Believe it or not, as a writer of comics I try very hard to get out of the way of the images. Where possible, I love having no dialogue, no captions. (I swear to you – as I write this two or three of the artists are now spontaneously laughing with no good idea why.) As I become more proficient, I hope to afford more and more space to simply allow the pictures to tell the tale. In the meantime, I will enjoy the little beats, the quiet moments between two or more characters that can speak volumes. Yes, I will enjoy those.
