I suspect I was reveling in season one of Game of Thrones when this scene was written. Rather than showing Veers’ “30,000 men”, we just hear about them. In truth, as cool as such a spectacle as that would’ve been on the page, the real meat is this exchange between Victor and his general, demonstrating in personal terms the fraying of their relationship. Never mind the fact that Matt’s arm would’ve fallen off after drawing the first 10,000 men.
